What to pitch

Send a concise proposal with a working title, the central question, the likely category and a short note on why the story matters to our readers. Tell us what makes the angle distinct and what sources, access or material it would depend on.

What makes a strong piece

We look for a clear focus, concrete detail, fair treatment of the people involved and a shape suited to the subject. Avoid sweeping claims that a single person's experience offers a universal recipe. Original reported ideas and well-grounded explanatory pieces are welcome.
